HOMEWORK:​ Learn the new words by heart Reread the text several times - Prepare part Speak & Listen (page 8).	- Class are divided into 2 groups. - 5 students in each group go to the board to quickly match the pictures with the names of places. - The winner will be the group that finish earlier with more correct matching. - Students prepare in 30 seconds and do the matching in one minute. - Teacher gives feedback and decide the winning group. - Teacher has students read once and asks them to give the Vietnamese meaning. - Teacher introduces the topic of Unit 1 to lead students in the lesson. - Teaching Vocabulary: - Pre-teach Vocabulary, using the techniques: + Synonym: Exchange letters + Situation + Context: (Trường học .... HS tích cực.) + If your religion is Islam, where would you to pray ? + What people do at a mosque? + Situation: Can you decide to have a trip abroad ? + Sometimes you call or visit your friends, relatives + What are parks, lakes, … used for ? + How do you call church, pagoda, mosque, temple,…? - Setting the scene with pictures Lan Maryam - Students answer the questions orally without being corrected. - Teacher has students read the text silently in three minutes, then discuss to find out the answers for the task (page 7). - Students have 2 minutes for preparing. - Students work in 2 groups, each group in turns do 2 sentences. The steps are as follow: + Students decide their choice: A, B, C or D + Explain in details: which sentences in which paragraph and which lines in textbook show the illustration. - Teacher gives feedback and answer key. - Teacher has students listen to the tape and follow it silently once. - Teacher asks one or two students to read the text aloud and check their pronunciation. - Teacher asks students to dicuss in pairs to prepare for the summary in 2 minutes - Students give summary of the lesson individually. in 5 minutes - Ask students to state what they learn after finishing the lesson. - Restate to make students’ideas better and clearer. - Teacher asks students to do at home.
